LEARNING ON WHEELS
Jews and Slavery: Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Historical Park
Cambridge, Maryland Area
Join us for a day-long discovery of Harriet Tubman’s life, and a stop on the Underground Railroad. We will explore Jewish perspectives on slavery as we compare the stories of Hebrew slaves and American slaves at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park in the Cambridge, Maryland area. Local historian David Epstein will guide us on an intellectual and emotional journey through these complicated periods of history. Time and weather permitting, we will stop at the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge to take in the spectacular birdwatching. We will travel on a fully-equipped charter bus. Kosher boxed lunches and drinks will be included.
